Saudi Government removed COVID-19 restrictions 2022
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi government has removed the majority of COVID-19 regulations, including the requirement to wear an outdoor mask (SPA).
New Requirements
- In any place, including Mecca’s Grand Mosque and Medina’s Prophet’s Mosque, social distancing is no longer required.
- According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), masks are still needed to be worn indoors.
- The Kingdom has removed the need for passengers to submit a negative PCR or quick antigen test upon arrival.
- Quarantine is no longer necessary for those entering the country, but health insurance is.
- Travelers from a number of nations have also been allowed to fly again.
- South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Malawi, Mauritius, Zambia, Madagascar, Angola, Seychelles, Comoros, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Afghanistan are among the countries included.
- For the first time since COVID-19 regulations were reintroduced on December 30, worshippers completed morning prayers at Mecca’s Grand Mosque without social separation on Sunday.
At the start of the pandemic, social segregation at Islam’s holiest site was implemented, although it was eventually lifted in October 2021.
Following the discovery of the first instance of the omicron variety in December, restrictions were reinstated as cases rose
- The limits are being eased as the number of daily COVID-19 cases continues to decline after a rise in mid-January.
- As the omicron strain spread over the world, daily case numbers in Saudi Arabia peaked at 5,928 on January 19.
- In the weeks after that, the number of cases dropped, and on Saturday, the country had 283 cases.
- COVID-19 rules were dropped due to high rates of immunity and inoculation, according to the Ministry of Interior.
- Enough COVID- According to Reuters, 19 vaccine shots were given to inoculate 87% of the population with two doses.
- To visit public venues and use public transportation, you must have a ‘immune’ Tawakkalna contact-tracking app status.
