But last night, basketball fans watched a dramatic chain of events unfold in real-time, as Atlanta Hawks guard Orlando Magic, rookie Dejounte Murray and big Paolo Banchero swooped in. I participated in Zeke End, Isiah Thomas’ annual summer basketball competition. A clip of the exhibition game quickly went viral. Murray faked his Banchero before throwing himself an alley-oop off his backboard. Then, as the crowd erupted, Murray said something to Banchero and threw the ball at him.

This is where the story gets tough and juicy to follow. Murray posted a highlight video on his Instagram story. Banchero then reposted Murray’s story on his  Instagram story but added his side of the story. He urged them to send doubles teams.

Murray, of course, makes sure he has the last word. The veteran accused the rookie of trying to bend his top draft picks and is no longer humble. For Murray’s full commentary, see: See the Bleacher Report tweet below. Frankly, this is the biggest development in the Hawks-Magic relationship since the  Eastern Conference Playoff Series in 2011. The two Southeast Division opponents will face each other four times next season. We’ll know the exact date next week after announcing the schedule for 23. On the floor on Sunday at the Zeke-End competition hosted by Isaiah Thomas in Tacoma, Washington, were Atlanta Hawks player Dejounte Murray and Orlando Magic rookie Paolo Banchero, but the action quickly moved to social media. The two, who are both native Seattleites, have consistently attended the city’s summer concerts; only one week previously, they both attended Jamal Crawford’s CrawsOver. However, things got hot tonight.

Banchero received a special “welcome to the league” moment from Murray when he hit the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft with a highlight-reel pump fake and finished with an alley-oop to himself off the glass and he informed the 19-year-old of everything.

Banchero responded by asking the All-Star to “stop sending doubles” after Murray released a video of the dunk on Instagram. Murray then said that Banchero had “lost all respect” for him.

Mark your calendars for the first Hawks vs. Magic clash of the season, as there is no love lost between them.
