Kim Jung Gi, a well-known artist, died on October 4 at the age of 47. According to the author’s official social media, Jung Gi was flying from Paris, France, to New York Comic-Con when he began to have acute chest problems.

Jung Gi has also contributed to a number of well-known novels and comic strips, namely Tiger the Long Tail, Paradis, Third Humanity, and SpyGames. He also worked with Marvel and DC Comics on a number of occasions. Jung Gi is particularly famous for his videos documenting the development of his enormous, intricate friezes. This is one of which set a Guinness World Record for “longest drawing by an individual.”

Furthermore, In 2016, Marvel Comics released eight linked variant covers for its Civil War II event series. Which when combined revealed Kim’s vision of a vast fight between Marvel Universe heroes. Marvel shared a time-lapse video of Kim creating the piece, which can be view above.
