STATEMENT REALEASED BY FAMILY

In a statement released by the family, they said, “It’s very sad to announce that Jimmy died on the night of July 6th.” “The family expresses their love and heartfelt condolences and demands that they continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time,” the statement added.

 HOLLYWOOD CAREER

James has a successful career in Hollywood and is probably best known for playing Sonny Corleone in The Godfather. That role earned him an Oscar nomination, and his performance has become one of the most famous in film history.

THE GODFATHER II 

James finally replayed Sony’s role in The Godfather Part II at Cameo. The legendary actor was praised and Piers Morgan tweeted first. “RIP James Caan 82. I met him once at a party in LA and he’s very He was an interesting and very entertaining person. He directed the 1969 movie The Rain People.

The actor began his theatrical career in the 1960s, starring in the 1966 Hollywood movie El Dorado, the 1967 countdown, and Francis Ford Coppola’s 1969 movie The Rain People.  The Godfather continued to make his name recognized, and James wasn’t short of offers for movies where Brian’s Song, Gambler, and A Bridge Too Far were added to his acting resume in the ’70s.

Although calm in the ’80s and ’90s, James got a lot of attention when he appeared on the other side of Will Ferrell in the 2003 movie “Elf”. This gave him the next generation of fans, and he continued to work until his death.

LAST PUBLIC APPEARANCE

In one of his last public places, James co-starred with Coppola for the 50th anniversary of The Godfather’s release in February.

PERSONAL LIFE

In his personal life, James married DJ Mattis for the first time from 1961 to 1966. Before James had a short marriage to Sheila Marie Ryan in 1976-77, they had one daughter, Tara. The relationship welcomed a son named Scott before the actor married Ingrid Haiek for the third time between 1990 and 1994. James welcomed his second son, Alexander, during this marriage before his fourth and final marriage to Lindaox in 1995. James and Linda had two more sons, James and Jacob before the couple filed for divorce in 2017.
