After the conclusion of the FedEx Cup playoffs, Cameron Smith and fellow Australian Marc Leishman are expected to compete in the LIV Golf Invitational Series. Smith won the British Open at St. Andrews by shooting a final-round 64, while Leishman won the FedEx Cup.

Cameron Percy, a second Australian golfer, said that “sadly, yep they’re gone” and that the details had already been completed to RSN Radio Australia in Melbourne.

Cam Smith made an appearance at the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Tuesday, where he was set to give a news conference. When questioned about the claim, Smith responded by saying, “My objective here is to win the FedEx Cup playoffs.” That is the only reason I am in this place.

“Cam Smith, not Cameron Percy, will be the one to deliver any messages on my behalf about the PGA Tour or LIV, should I find it necessary to do so. I am a man of my word, and anytime you guys need to know anything, I will let you know what it is that you need to know.”

A spokesperson from LIV Golf declined to comment on the radio broadcast, and Bud Martin, the agent who represents both Smith and Leishman, could not be contacted for comment.
