According to the agency, Apple has requested about 220 million units of its smartphones from suppliers. Analysts at IDC and Bloomberg Intelligence predicted the company would order 20 million more. They expected about 240 million smartphones to be released this year. The forecast was justified by the expectation of increased demand for the iPhone 14.

“Losses” were associated with a difficult start to the year in the mobile device industry. Among the factors listed is the worst inflation in the US in decades and problems with supply chains. Strategy Analytics predicts that smartphone shipments will fall by 2% in 2022.

Earlier, Nikkei sources reported that the release of the iPhone 14 line of smartphones was in jeopardy due to the fact that the suppliers of the American company are behind schedule. According to them, at least the assembly of one of the new flagship smartphones is three weeks late due to disruptions due to lockdowns in China.
