A person who hates kpop would never believe it but the kpop wave began back in 2012 when Gangnam Style came out. It took over the word like a tsunami. If you tell a normie about Gangnam style being kpop, they’ll refuse to believe.

After that, EXO and BTS brought about the new kpop wave back in 2016 / 2017 and onwards. From then on, the kpop fever kept increasing and rising and has yet to stop. Now, you have a bunch of gremlins fawning over and promoting their favorite kpop bands better than their entertainment companies could ever. It’s me, I’m the gremlin.

EXO’s concept is deeply rooted in the idea of “EXO Planet,” a fictional universe where the members of the group hail from different planets. This concept was introduced with their debut in 2012. Their debut song was “MAMA”. Since their debut, the superpower theme has been a central theme in their music, performances, and overall aesthetic.

In this concept, EXO members possess superpowers that correspond to the planets they represent. For example, there are members with powers like telekinesis, time control, teleportation, and more. If you listen to the song “power” and watch the MV, you’ll understand this concept a bit better.
