8 Interesting Hacks For Short-Heightened, You Must Know
Being small isn’t easy. However, to get through the day like a normal-sized or tall person, we have to come up with life hacks for short people. We can’t just go around “reaching stuff” and “seeing things from a distance” because we’re short. Therefore, we have to make the changes we need to so we don’t miss out. There are times when nothing can be done. For example, at the back of a standing-room-only concert, short people may have to settle for watching the middle of the back of the person in front of them for the whole show instead of the band they came to see. Here are a few small things you can do every day to make yourself feel taller.
1. Keep a step ladder in the kitchen

Keep a step ladder in the kitchen. If you live alone or when your partner, roommate, or parents aren’t around, keep a small step ladder or stool in the kitchen. I have a two-step ladder/stool hybrid made of wood that I got from IKEA for something like $20 for those times when I’d otherwise have to open and stand in low drawers to reach something..
2. Get a claw
It would save you from having to jump and hit things down from high places.
3. Get your doe eyes just right
I mean, it is manipulative, but if you can make your eyes big and glassy like Puss in Boots from Shrek, you can get taller people to do things you can’t reach and, if you’re lucky, move out of the way when you’re trying to see something.
4. Use throw pillows
For a short-heighted person, the back of a chair and being able to put their feet on the ground don’t always go together. Throw pillows can be stylish and cute additions to your apartment, and they can also be useful when you’re trying to sit comfortably on furniture made for normal-sized people.
5. Roll up the knees of your jeans
A friend once showed me a cool way to wear skinny jeans: instead of turning them under at the bottom, roll them over at the knee, where a natural crease already exists. This way, the seam at the ankle looks much better.
6. Learn how to sew
A short person’s only hope is to be a good seamstress. When you’re short-heightened, you have to change the length of everything, from straps to hems. If you know how to do this yourself, you can save a lot of money and make shopping for clothes less stressful
7. Get pictures taken at eye level
As a short-heightened person, it can be very annoying when every picture you take makes you look like you have a head that is too big for your body. Everyone is shooting you from above, which is their normal height. If people take pictures of you from your point of view, your head will look better proportioned to your body.
8. Wear a top knot
To look taller right away, wear a top knot. And you can make it taller the more hair you have. Even though there are some bad things in life, it doesn’t have to be that way for a short person. I’m 5’1″, and even though I don’t think I’m small (I think I’m the same size as all my friends who are 5’5″ or taller), I often have to jump over things to get where I need to go. This means that I must be short. If you are also short, don’t worry.
