Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Paldea Trailer: The New Pokémon Region

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Paldea region resembles an island or peninsula, modeled after the Iberian Peninsula. It consists largely of Spain and Portugal. The Pokémon Company somehow unveiled a colorful, top-down map of the region during its Pokémon Presents broadcast on Wednesday. It was, however, the first major look at the world we’ll explore in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple.

The region is explicitly centered around Mesagoza, the major city of Palden. It is home to one of two schools players can attend. Naranja Academy and Uva Academy, in Scarlet and Violet, respectively, are open to children and adults. They are who want to learn more about. With Pokémon, according to the Scarlet and Violet website. The location of both schools is inside Mesagoza, described as the largest city in the region.

Mesagoza appears to be just south of the center:

On the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet map, Mesagoza appears to be just south of the center. It is below the large swirling hole in the center. From there, other cities and different biomes, bridges, roads, and trails connect them. These cover every corner of the overcrowded peninsula.

The official site significantly describes the region as having “a land of vast open spaces dotted with lakes, towering peaks, wastelands, and perilous mountain ranges”. You can see these different areas on the map. There’s a huge lake in the upper left corner, with a few small islands scattered across the water. The rivers flow into the lake from a snow-capped peak, where a group of cold weather creatures presumably reside.

Most of the map looks lush, with many small lakes and rivers:

Some areas look explicitly barren, with little greenery. However, most of the map looks lush, with many small lakes and rivers turning into heavily forested areas with lots of trees. Between these wild areas, there are also more than half a dozen small settlements or towns.

“To support Pokémon Trainers, there are many outdoor Pokémon Centers scattered around Paldea,” the game’s official website said and each of them has a Poké Ball sign on the roof”.

If you look closely, there are also a few areas that are clearly Pokemon Gyms or Battle Zones; green fields with the Poké Ball emblem are visible on the top-down map. It’s not surprising; staples of the series are battling and the quest to become a Pokémon champion. In fact, the game’s website has confirmed that the standard champion quest is one of three scenarios to expect in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple.

The last thing to mention about the Paldea region is that the Pokemon has a special ability there. This is something similar to the Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon in the Galar region. Pokémon in Paldea can transform significantly into gems with unexpected elemental types; this is called the Terastal phenomenon.

What does the Terastal energy seeping from the ground of the Paldea region show?

Consequently, we see crystals scattered there around the earth, used to recharge the Tera Orbs embedded in special Tera Orbs: “Terastal energy seeping from the ground of the Paldea region shows involvement in the phenomenon,” The Pokémon Company wrote. Naturally, this unique phenomenon is something you will study with Professor Sada and Professor Turo.

That’s all we know about Paldea for now. Moreover, we’ll all get to explore the new region when Pokémon Scarlet and Purple releases on November 18 on Nintendo Switch.
