Vasilevskiy has had a record of 7-2 with a goals-against-average of 2.10 versus his in-state competitors over the course of the previous two postseasons. This includes helping the Lightning defeat Florida 4-2 in the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

In the event that Tampa Bay wins and advances to the semifinals of the Stanley Cup, the team will face either the New York Rangers or the Carolina Hurricanes.
