The geodynamic process, which occurs in the inside of the Earth, generates the magnetic field, which stretches from the planet’s inner Centre to outer space. The magnetic field of earth, which is slanted on an axis and has a size that ranges from 25 to 65 microtears, is a magnetic dipole. About 11 degrees make up the Earth’s rotation.

The magnetosphere controls the size of the magnetic field in space, which extends thousands of miles above the atmosphere and shields the earth from charged cosmic rays and solar winds that would otherwise destroy the ozone layer and other parts of the atmosphere.

Magnetized poles

The north pole and the south pole are the two poles of the earth’s magnetic field, which is true of all magnetic fields. The earth’s magnetic field’s south pole, which is close to Greenland in the northern hemisphere, is known as the magnetic north pole because it pulls the compass needle there.

The magnetic south pole, which is where the magnetic field’s north pole is located, is in Antarctica, south of the Earth.

The Earth’s magnetic poles are not fixed; rather, they move at a speed of 30 miles per year, which is slow enough to allow for the practical use of a standard compass. Additionally, the poles are subject to reversals at irregular intervals, which can last up to several hundred thousand years.

The magnetic field of the Earth is significant because:

The ozone layer is maintained and kept in place by the Earth’s magnetic field, which also blocks ultraviolet radiation from reaching the surface of the planet by keeping the ozone layer in place and preventing solar wind from reaching it. According to scientists, Mars’ atmosphere has been destroyed by the solar wind, rendering it uninhabitable.

The Earth’s magnetic field also causes the pointer to move, which is important for navigation, and some Earth-dwelling species, such as some types of bacteria, pigeons, and aquatic animals, have what is known as a “magnetic sense” for navigating and determining direction on Earth.

Theory of a dynamo

The outer crust of the earth is followed by the mantle, the outer core, and the inner core. The  inner core is  solid layer with a temperature of around 5730 degrees Celsius. Although the outer core is always liquid, the inner core itself is kept in a solid condition by a high pressure level.

Convection (heat transfer), which derives from the Earth’s rotation and convective movement, is a process wherein the heavier metals in the Earth’s inner core solidify while the lighter ones flow to the outer core, and it causes the outer core of the Earth to be in a state of perpetual movement. enough motion to go to both the outer surface of the Earth and space. In reality, scientists are still learning a lot about the actual process that creates the Earth’s magnetic field, but theories have emerged that include fundamental ideas like the existence of fluids (fluids) that conduct electricity and a source of energy is the constant movement and a magnetic field to activate the process.
