Good news! Jonathan Bailey, who plays Bridgerton’s main man, has been cast as Fiyero in the next Wicked film adaptations. Check out the actor’s reaction, as well as that of Ariana Grande and others, to the news of the casting.

On September 21, director Jon M. Chu announced that Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey would portray Fiyero in the upcoming two-part version of the well-known musical. Bailey will be joined in the cast by the likes of Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda.
“He is perfect, and together they are perfect. They make a great match for one another. Born to exist in perpetuity…” In his tweet announcing the casting announcement, Chu recited some of the words of the song “Dancing Through Life.”
Bailey, who is best known for his role as Anthony Bridgerton on Netflix’s Bridgerton, unobtrusively celebrated landing the part on Instagram by labeling a photo on September 21 with the phrase “Dancing through.” He also included an appropriate green love emoji in the description.

The stage musical Wicked will be adapted on the big screen in two separate movies, the first of which is scheduled for release in December 2024, followed by the second in 2025.
