Fernandes Portugal Beat Uruguay in the FIFA World Cup 2022

On Monday, the second week of the 2022 FIFA World Cup’s His Cup continued. when Fernandes ,  Portugal beat Uruguay 2-0 at his stadium in Qatar’s Lusail. We covered all of Group H’s key moments .



With this victory, Portugall (2-0-0) secured its first back-to-back world title since 2006 and advanced to the Round of 16. On the other hand, Uruguay (0-1-1) suffered their first defeat in the tournament. Ghana had earlier beaten South Korea in a big win, earning three points and moving up to second place in Group H. Elsewhere in Group G, Cameroon drew with Serbia while Brazil led Switzerland.

 3′: What could have been!

Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. didn’t waste any time setting the tone in this one. Portugal’s William Carvalho narrowly missed the net on this early shot, which was set up by a smooth shoulder pass from Ronaldo.


 Ronaldo — fresh off of becoming the first men’s player to score in five World Cups in Portugal’s previous match — had another chance to put his team on the board with a well-placed free kick, but it was deflected.


 Uruguay had a golden opportunity to take over near the half-hour mark, but Rodrigo Bentancur wasn’t able to connect after a monster save from Portugall keeper Diogo Costa.

 Bruno Fernandes gave Portugall a 1-0 lead as the one-hour mark approached. The goal was originally credited to Ronaldo.

75′: So close!

 Uruguay continued to battle Portugal as the second half unfolded. Maxi Gómez nearly knotted things up at the 75-minute mark, but his shot hit the right post. Uruguay attacked relentlessly in the closing minutes, with two more shots in the final four minutes.

82′: Der Volksspieler

 Portugal made several late substitutions, including Gonzalo Ramos, who checked in to replace Ronaldo.

90+3: double trouble

 Portugal continued to pressure Uruguay toward the end of the second half. Fernandez converted a late injury-time penalty to give Portugal his 2-0 lead.90’+9′:


 Fernandes nearly scored a third goal in the final minute of Monday’s game of the night, but his shot hit the left post, and in the end, Portugal scored his 2-0 thanks to Fernandes’ excellent footwork. 0 won.
