During the course of the regular season, the Buccaneers currently find themselves mired in a lengthy losing skid versus the Saints. Would it be possible for Julio Jones to turn the tables?

The Saints have a greater understanding of the Buccaneers than any other team in the NFL, and that includes all 32 teams. The current standings show that this division opponent if we can even call them that at this time, has defeated Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in every regular season encounter since the GOAT joined the franchise.

The outcome remained the same every time:

It made no difference whether the Saints were using backups or emergency head coaches while they played. The outcome remained the same every time, with the exception of Tampa Bay’s victory in the playoffs.

The Buccaneers needed to make some changes if they were to finally see some progress in this area. It somehow appears that the acquisition of Julio Jones could be the injection of skill that they have been looking for all along.

Jones’ lifetime win-loss record seems pretty similar to that of Tampa’s. It is loaded with six career victories in the regular season and 12 career defeats in games that he participated in. However, it is apparent that this was due to little fault of Jones’ own. Jones’ win-loss record is quite similar to that of Tampa’s.

Jones has been virtually unstoppable in the other categories:

As an individual, Jones was a machine when competing against teams in his division, and the Saints were no exception to this rule. Jones has been virtually unstoppable in the other categories that matter, despite the fact that he has only scored three receiving touchdowns in his career versus New Orleans in the regular season.

The newest member of the Buccaneers receiving corps has averaged 15.8 yards per reception and 90 yards per game versus the Saints throughout the course of his career. It includes 102 receptions for a total of 1,615 yards.

If the Buccaneers do elect to deploy their passing offense again on Sunday, this is going to be of tremendous assistance to them in doing so.

The Buccaneers’ victory in Week 1 by running the ball looked good on paper in some areas. However, if they want to get out of Week 2 with a win, they need to get back to doing what they do best, which is running the ball. Use Julio Jones. Just toss the football already. Go, Buccaneers!
